Babe the sheep-pig by Dick King-Smith The Hoggets have got a ferm with sheepdogs and sheep. Mr Hogget meets a man on the street who make him an offer, he sais if he guesses the weight of the pig, he can take it. The pig is the prize. Mr. Hogget guesses and he take it home, his wife, Mrs. Hogget is thrilled to have a pig for the rich Christmas meal. The pig's name is Babe and he made friends and Fly is the mother of the young dogs, who laughed at him. The time has come for the young dogs to move apart from their mother to go to other farmers in different villages. Fly became Babe's mother and teach him how to be a sheep-pig, because it is his dream. Mr. Hogget brings for the first time a sheep in a box because she was ill. Her name is Ma, she is sociable with Babe and notice that Babe respects her. Fly isn't respectful to the sheep and considers them stupid animals, but Babe always understands and talk to them. Fly is proud of him, but he notice that he put on weight and for Christmas he could be killed so he tells him to eat less and to run every morning. Mrs. Hogget regards that Babe is slim and she can wait for the Easter. Mr. Hogget and Fly leave with the truck, but some men with 2 bad dogs get in the field to take the sheep. Babe defends them, the Mrs. Hogget saw everything and told her husband. Mr. Hogget saw how clever is Babe and he wanted to take him at a competition. He trains Babe every day, but the sheep at the Mr. Hogget's field don't go to the competition and Fly teaches him a password. At the race he tells them the secret password and become the best sheep-pig in the world. Bianca B.
